Like a lot of you, I did the dance of trying company after company in the home business arena with little success. Amway, Quixtar, Melaleuca, some company selling silver solution and so on.
What did they all have in common?
They had the following in common:
Excellent, top quality products.
Sell your family and friends and their family and friends and hope you survive long enough to make it to the 0.5% of those who actually make a living from home seemed to be the industry sales plan.
A 0.5% success rate amongst their distributors and no plan for making it better.
They provided lots of RAH! RAH! sessions and very little ‘Do This, Not That’ instruction.
Note: I do not consider ‘worry the p!$$ out of your family and friends’ to be worthy of being called instruction.
A fellow who I was fortunate enough to have a conversation with told me that the majority of these companies work within the following constraints:
They know only 0.5% +/- will make it to six figure incomes
98.5% will fall by the wayside and quit the business in short order
16.5% will remain as customers of the company’s products for a fairly long time, many permanently.
His comments would wake me two years later in the cold early morning hours.
People (I was one) would scratch their heads and wonder why the company kept growing if none of the salespeople remained active for very long. Later on, I realized that the company does not need salespeople to remain profitable; it needs customers.
If you are generating 16 long term customers for every 100 failed distributors, your business is golden.
This fellow who covered this information with me, who was honestly trying to help me although at the time I was not at a place in my personal growth to where I could actually grasp what he was telling me, planted the seed in my brain that would just blossom later.
What happened? What was this sudden realization?
The Dream Never Left Me
Someone once asked me, “Why don’t you just quit?” In other words, why do you keep banging your head against this wall when you keep failing? My reply was, “I don’t know how.” I was not lazy, and I was not stupid. I simply had bad information. Every one kept telling me they had the secret and for $29.95 or $39.95 or my next paycheck or whatever, they would REVEAL it to me.
It was not too long that I figured out was that what they knew was how to separate me and most others in that late night TV daze of exhaustion and worry from our $39.95 and very little about building a stable, long term profitable business from home. Sure, we felt better for a time …we had done something… but very little actual information was ever forthcoming.
Early Morning Wake Up Call From the Great BEYOND …My Subconscious
I sat up in the middle of the night…I think it was something like 3:15AM on a Saturday morning and said to myself,
“Their plan calls for a 98.5% failure rate.”
“Their plan calls for a 98.5% failure rate.”
“Their plan calls for a 98.5% failure rate.”
I Need A New Plan
I needed a new plan.
I could not rely on someone whose plan calls for me to most likely fail to give me reliable information.
They were already betting on my failure. It was already worked into the numbers.
Their plan did not need for me to succeed
My replacement was already being groomed most likely
Like I said, I could rely on them for quality products because unlike some big box stores who only sell what is cheap to people on minimal incomes, most direct sales companies thrive on selling quality products to folks who demand quality and will pay for it.
Keeping my mouth shut to my family and friends…I was determined that the only future conversations I would have with family and friends about business would be about my paying cash for my house, I went into think mode.
I needed a new plan based on information that had stood the test of time and changing market conditions. I went to work to find that information.
Burnt out on the grind of prospecting, I went through the trouble of actually spending time with those who were succeeding. I made it a point to find their contact information and talk with them.
They all had the same thing to say:
Run Your Business Like a Business and Market It
So I stopped selling and prospecting and started marketing.
And that was the difference that has made all the difference. I actually experienced cash flow that involved no phone conversations or persuasion by me. I also found out that the majority of successful folks share a common marketing (not sales) system.
Now it is YOUR TURN to “get inside” the same system I joined about a year ago… absolutely FREE for the next 30 days.
Offer closes Sunday at midnight so click below now:
In this post I will provide the new affiliate marketer some information without which he could really minimize his or her earnings for way too long, possibly even so long that they wind up dropping out. I don’t want that to happen.
So, you are new to the affiliate marketing world. You have seen all the excitement about folks making a living from their desk or kitchen table at home or from their gaming system. Instead of Call to Duty, you are playing Call to Collecting Currency.
I know I did. I remember having an epiphany one day when I was playing Mafia Wars on Facebook.
Man, I loved Mafia Wars!
I was good at it.
I was collecting billions of Mafia Wars dollars just because I was so darn clever.
But they would not take Mafia Wars bucks down at the grocery store.
Mystifying, isn’t it?
Anyways, I decided that I needed to put at least as much energy into generating real dollars as I did into Mafia Wars. I chose affiliate marketing as my business model of choice.
What Kind of Online Business?
Home Affiliate Programs
Well, as I say I knew I wanted something I could run from home, without employees and minimal overhead. I wanted something that I could deliver digitally because information is something that has no shipping costs and no time spent packaging it.
I like the concept of network marketing, but it was not where I wanted to start. Network marketing is a relationship business and I wanted a model where folks were looking for what I had to offer and sought me out, rather than me hunting for them and going through a sales process. Don’t get me wrong; sales is a perfectly honorable profession and if there were not people good at it we would still be digging a trench out back and suffering uncomfortable little mid-winter nips in sensitive areas. (I am involved in networking, but that is a tale for another telling.)
Let me be perfectly clear. I love salespeople. They bring me all kinds of neat stuff I might not otherwise know about.
Anyways, after a ton of research, it occurred to me that what I really wanted was an affiliate marketing business. Conducting marketing activities so folks who needed me could find me was my preferred business activity of choice.
This made it a matter of them telling me they wanted to buy rather than me ‘selling’ them on the idea that they needed it.
The reason for this is that it enabled me to engage in marketing in the online business space rather than having to engage in selling an individual.
People hate being sold and I intend to respect that.
One of the things that has been hammered into me by my mentors is Quit Selling. Start telling, and adding real value into your words…really helping them solve their problems and soon it becomes a game of the more you tell, the more people stick money in your pocket with a smile and a thank you.
Best Affiliate Marketing Programs
Without yet getting into any one specific program the concensus seems to be that the best affiliate programs offer the following:
Digital, downloadable information and training products
High commission percentages. (30% won’t get it these days. The competitive programs all have at least a good portion of their affiliate commissions in the 75% to 100% commission less any merchant fees.)
Subscription products, i.e., there is a monthly charge for membership in an ongoing training or educational resource.
Why are these three characteristics important? Well, for one thing digital, downloadable information and training products require no shipping or physical handling. This minimizes your cost and makes the sales process very fast and easy for the customer. Very little impediment to getting instant gratification on your customer’s part means more sales, more repeat sales, and opportunities for future sales.
My direct mentor (he’s built half a dozen or so six figure businesses from home) said at one point this spring or summer he went through an online webinar, got excited, did the Roland of Gilead thing with his credit card …did a quick draw and pulled the trigger, so to speak… and found out there was a six week waiting period for the course to be delivered.
He cancelled the order; I cannot say I blame him.
Choosing Higher Commission Products Is Good for Your Bottom Line
High commission percentages mean each sale covers more of your monthly nut to cover expenses; so you are paid out for the month with fewer sales. Would you rather make 10 $500 sales at 100% or would you rather make 100 $50 sales at a 30% commission? If you need to do the math, go right ahead and come back when you are done. I bet you will only need to do it once.
Subscription products should be that for which you always aim. Why? Because you get paid every month and over time your monthly income will become larger than your job’s wages.
It will become not only stable, but will be arguably more stable than your job. It only takes one person to fire you from your job. If you have a stable of subscriptions of 100 or 200 folks on a good, effective product that people like what are the odds of them all cancelling at once? Zero.
That is income security.
It also means you don’t have to work every month for your bill paying money. Once you get your base expenses covered everything you are actively working on will be to generate a raise.
Would that not be a hoot? You can give yourself a raise anytime it suits you.
If you want to make more money, all you have to do is sell more stuff. To sell more stuff, get your offer in front of more people. Build a bigger audience and you will make more money. The more you tell, the more you sell. It’s a universal principle; it really does work.
One of the fastest, most powerful ways to build a bigger audience and to get more traffic, leads and sales on complete autopilot is to syndicate your original content to numerous social media sites.
Some social media sites include:
…and this is by no means an exhaustive list. For some reason I like plurk although I don’t kid myself in comparing it to one of the above. The interface is just crisp, but I am beginning to get off track here. If you check out Plurk, make sure to add me.
Anyways, when you upload a new Youtube promotional video… not only do you have the potential for everyone on Youtube to find it… you have the potential for 800,000,000 people on Facebook to see it and another 250 million on Twitter and 200 million people on LinkedIn… and more, quite a lot more.
If you like doing what if’s in your mind, think on this: If your conversion rate is 1% and you managed to get in front of a significant percentage of Facebook’s members with your content, what do you think that 1% would look like in your checkbook? Pretty nice, I am guessing.
How Does Audience Builder Pro Work?

This is going to be a short and sweet article on My Lead System Pro.
If you believe you know about My Lead System Pro, but have not made the decision to join, I suspect you do not understand it yet. I want to help remedy that because I went through the same thing. I even joined at one point and then walked away, only to return when I truly understood what MLSP has to offer in terms of helping you quickly get to profitability.
Not to be too awfully hardnosed about it, but MLSP is simply the best, most complete, most transparent training system available for the affiliate and network marketer.
No one else comes close.
Think about it. Some bright new, shiny next big thing comes on line and to whom do they compare themselves? Right, to MLSP. Why? Because they set the standard for training and generating leads and providing revenue streams even from folks who will never join your primary business as well as generating leads for your primary business.
As a member of Mastery, you get access to tons of webinars and instruction sessions that the gurus have amassed in the training vault over the years. You also have the right to buy and to sell a ton of products at 100%. Also, you don’t have to buy them before you sell them to others. In the interests of transparency, I will list all I own or subscribe to here.
I own other services, too, but we are talking about the training program of MLSP right now. MLSP is generic in that is helps in all businesses, not just the business opportunity in which I am involved. It can help yours, too.
Why I am So Stoked About MLSP
Simply put, helping folks to be able to walk away from their jobs will give those folks the time and the money to participate in making society and our various countries better.
Better places to live, better places to rear kids and raise whatever we want.
You are not trying to replace your job because it is such a bang up place to work, are you? No, you want to replace it because you miss your kids, kissing their foreheads after you have come in long after their bedtime because some *&^% at work dropped a last minute report on your desk to finish or because you have to work overtime because the company refuses to hire enough folks to do the job, yelling at you, driving you on to greater efforts when the reward is a bigger tax bite on payday.
Or maybe because while it may be a good job, it just will not pay the bills even with overtime. We’re not talking about you being irresponsible; lots of folks file for bankruptcy because their income just will not match up with their bills through no fault of their own.
A lot of the troubles in this time are not because people are lazy, but because they were sold a bill of goods that no job can pay the tab on.
It is not your fault you are struggling right now, but it is your fault if you allow it to continue because the solution is here.
My Lead System Pro
One of the main subjects MLSP educates you on is where you make your money. According to MLSP’s Founders, a successful, stable income is comprised or, or supported by if you like, four legs. They are:
Product Revenue(100% of coaching, tools, products, trainings and so on.)
Continuity Revenue(something that pays you on a regular, ongoing basis such as subscriptions on autopilot)
High-ticket Revenue(Things with at least $1,000 instant commission.)
MLM/Networking/Biz Opp Revenue(whatever your specific business may be.)
The fact of the matter is if you really want to make more money, and you do, your surely do, you have to realize that very few of the big dogs out there living the life of Riley built their incomes by only selling folks on the idea of #4, their business opportunity. Seeing the above laid out in detail made some things I was told in the past make sense.
One I got involved with My Lead System Pro and started going through the system, I remembered what one of the Rubies (his name was Tim, too) in Quixtar explained to me and it makes more sense now than it did then. He indicated to me that ‘Tools’ income was a significant source of a Ruby’s and Emerald’s income, and even more so for a Diamond.
Seeing the 4 Profit Centers/Revenue Streams as outlined here made that make sense.
The very first tip is to look at all the marketing channels you have before you, look at your natural tendencies, and decide for which channel you think your natural talents are most suited.
Do you like to write letters, long emails and keep a journal? Then maybe content marketing and blogging are a natural fit for you. Are you a ham and love being in front of the camera? Then YouTube marketing is perhaps where you should start.
Whatever you decide, do it and do it several times a week. I am not going to beat the drum of do it every day but I do think four to five times a week is a good idea. Sometimes you need to take a break so you can put something good together rather than rushing out something half @$$ed, you know?
Pick on method and do everything you can to master it.
If you find you are getting no results, ask yourself whether you are really focusing on one method or if you are shotgunning it. If you are not shotgunning it, ask yourself if you are consistent in your marketing efforts. Marketing takes time to gain traction.
FOCUS on one strategy to profitability.

Affiliate Marketing Tools
You know all those Capital One commercials asking you, “What’s in your wallet?”
Ask yourself what is in your affiliate marketing toolset.
Well? What is in your affiliate marketing toolset? If you are like most folks the question never occurred to you.
Thing is, when you do keyword research and you find a word for which you think you can compete you need to look at the number of searches for that keyword. Under 500 is a good place to start for the new person. When you create a piece of content with the purpose of making a profit, you need to understand that you need to craft it in such a way that it winds up on page one of Google’s search results.
Google’s Keyword Planner is free. I don’t use it. I use Market Samurai because it breaks everything down in terms of what my competition is doing, what their page rank is, how many backlinks they have, and so on.
My personal toolset includes
Posting On Purpose for Profit1
Audience Builder Pro2
Rank and Stick SEO3
My Lead System Pro’s Mastery Program4
Affiliate Marketing and Backlinks
Simply put, if your toolset will not create more backlinks than your competition you will not be on the first page of Google and any traffic you get will be either accidental or from other sources …which is perfectly fine. You just need to know that the majority of people do not look past page one of Google and job one of your SEO toolset needs to be to create backlinks to your page to maximize your chances of being on page one.
You can do this yourself by spending the time or you can invest in tools that do it for you. Either is fine as long as you know how many your competition has so you can set about the business of creating more than they.
Affiliate Marketing Tips for Blogposts and YouTube Videos
Earlier, Google’s Keyword Planner was mentioned as was Market Samurai. YouTube also has a Youtube Keyword Tool you can access by clicking here. It is not as up to date as Google or Market Samurai’s tools as it is new, but it is not a bad idea to cross reference between YouTube’s tool and whichever keyword tool you use.
Here are some quick and dirty blog post and video SEO tricks:
Have your keyword in the title
Have your keyword in the file name
Description should be about 4-5 sentences with your keyword used in them. Don’t over do it; just write a good short paragraph about your chosen keyword.
If you are making a video about a particular product and not linking it to a blog post because you are engaging you YouTube affiliate marketing, make sure your capture page link is the first line of the video description, and the last. This really is critical.
Post about your video with links to it in your social media accounts.
Use timestamps with your keyword in the description. YouTube will automatically create a bookmark at that point in your video as well as take note of another instance of your keyword for search and indexing purposes. This increases keyword depth without ticking off Panda.
Google favors YouTube…probably because Google owns YouTube. While you can and should post videos to other video sites, you need to keep posting to YouTube, too.
Backlinks. Create backlinks. Say it with me, “Backlinks are good; backlinks are sexy; backlinks will make me rich AND sexy, too.” Well, rich anyways.
For dummies is not really a title I like, but the SEO I performed for this article indicated it was something for which people searched on a regular basis, so, there you go.
No one reading this is a dummy, you are just in the same predicament any of us just starting out find ourselves. Namely, you don’t know what you don’t know.
The only solution to that problem is to strike out with a test search and see what you come up with, not unlike keyword research. You throw out a keyword into whatever keyword research tool you use and see what floats to the surface in terms of a keyword that has sufficient search numbers to make it worth your time while also being a keyword for which you can compete.
Affiliate Marketing Training
Today I am going to teach you a simple 4 step system that is so simple and straightforward that I almost guarantee that not only can you do it yourself, it will take you minutes to teach it to your folks and that is the very definition of a duplicable skillset. You can use this whether you are engaged in affiliate marketing, online network marketing, or both.
One of the key struggles on the minds of the gurus these days is whether a skillset is transferable to their distributors and affiliates. Sadly, in many cases the answer is it is not transferable, which I agree sucks big time. I am excited about this 4 step process because it is inherently transferable.
Four Step System For The Affiliate Marketing Blog and Those Involved In Online Network Marketing
The four steps to this system are:
Invest in courses and training.
Learn and internalize the information in the courses you have purchased.
Teach your new skillsets to those who are in business with you and those who read your blog and watch your videos.
Make a very definite call to action, which is to say, be very clear on what it is you want your viewers and readers to do,i.e., click on a link or go to a certain web address to learn more, etc.
Let’s Break each step down a bit as this is directed at being an affiliate marketing for beginners type of resource. Even so, I bet a lot of experienced folks who struggle with what to write about on a regular basis would be excited by such a simple system.
Why do I say that? Because if they are even a little bit experienced I bet their hard drives are absolutely packed with videos and PDFs they have bought over the years. If you find you are one of these folks, celebrate. You have a resource that will keep you in high cotton as far as things to blog about for some time.
Here we go…
Step 1: Invest In You, Inc
This means you need to invest your time and money into personal growth courses, coaches, books, events, etc. When I built my Internet services provider back in the late ’90’s, I had to sit down and create a business plan. This was just a single stage because after the business plan I had to create a marketing plan, too. This meant I had to go get those skills or hire someone who had them.
Fortunately for us, the skillsets you require are specifically created for the individual who wants to run their business by him or herself. Two primers I recommend are ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ by Robert Kiyosaki and ‘The 16 Laws of Success’ as told by Carnegie to Napoleon Hill.
Legend has it that Henry Ford objected to Carnegie divulging all these ‘secrets’ to the public and so ‘Think and Grow Rich’ was written as a watered down version that was ‘elite approved’ for the common man. If that makes you smoke just a little bit, you are not alone.
There are skills you need. How to write an effective article, how to do SEO, SAO and how to close and so on. These are all skillsets you need and they are worth purchasing courses on.
Step 2: Learn – Actually Go Through the Courses
The phenomena of folks buying courses and then never bothering to actually go through the things is simply one of those inexplicable things in life. People will pay $39.97, $97, even $297 for a course and never go through the thing. They don’t even bother to get a refund in most cases.
I have thought about this and have rejected the idea that it is just laziness as too simple. I think it is a bad case of desperation and holding on to hope. It is better in some of these folks minds to keep telling themselves they will get to it ‘someday’ because desperate hope to them is better than going through the course and finding they are simply not capable of doing what is required of them.
I don’t know why but the image of a rabbit going ‘tharn’ in Watership Down (I think) just occurred to me. Tharn is when a rabbit freezes up when caught in the headlights and gets run down. Tharn is a good name for a bad state of mind and I think many who fall by the wayside paralyzed by needing to hold on to an uncertain hope rather than risk knowledge of certain failure.
Geez, when that thought occurred to me I really felt badly for those folks. To be so determined that your destiny is failure that you prefer a hope held at arm’s length to actually trying must be horrible. I hate to admit it, but this very thing is what kept me from doing videos for a long time.
When I realized I was being a chicken$#!t and that people needed someone like me and you to step up and actually build an underground railroad to freedom I kind of got mad at myself.
People need to spend their lives rearing their kids and living their lives as free people rather than in some corporate hive. Many folks work in an environment where even the words you speak outside work need to be monitored so as not the be offensive to whomever that corporation is butt buddies with.
What we, you and I, do as affiliate and Internet network marketers is important in ways that go far, far beyond just making a buck.
When you buy a course, start on it that very day. Turn off the TV and get on the course you bought even if it is only for 30 minutes. How should you study?
How To Study Affiliate and Internet Marketing Courses
There is a simple system I use to study whatever it is I need to master in a short timeframe. It helped me acheive a 3.41 GPA in a biochemistry and mathematics course of study in college and it works well for me whatever the subject matter at the time may be. It is called the SQR3 method. Perhaps you have heard of it or used it.
Here is how it works. The steps are:
Survey the course you have bought. Look through the material. Read the section headings, check out the bolded or boxed material, look at whatever may be highlighted.
Question yourself as to what you think the section or chapter is trying to teach you. What is it the writer or instructor is trying to get you to understand?
Then Read the information. Grab your favorite beverage and turn off the phone, tell your sweetheart you are studying. Ask them if they need your help with something before you start and get that chore knocked out so you can focus. Then close the door and read every single word in that chapter. I find that for me, 30 – 45 minute increments seem to be best.
I also know from research on the matter that taking a teaspoon of honey at the end of the 30 minutes can increase retention for those for whom sugar is not a problem.
Recite the material out loud. Yes, indeed, read the material out loud. This involves more of the five senses increasing the number of channels through which the information flows. Your eyes are processing it. Your mouth is repeating it. Your ears are reprocessing the information again. This can do nothing but increase your long term retention of what you are studying.
This also means it becomes less something you have studied and more something that is second nature to you.
Review what it is you have learned. Think about it. Roll it around in your brain. Discuss it with whomever taught it to you or those with whom you are running to win.
Teach what you learn.
Take what you have learned and repackage it in your own words and provide it to your team. They signed on with you as either an affiliate or a distributor so it is a given they are looking to you for instruction. Going to the trouble of providing them with ongoing information that you have invested in means they are going to trust you.
Sometimes this will mean you teach them directly. Other times it will mean you refer them to a resource such as a blog post or video you have created or something they can buy, providing them with an in depth solution to their problem. People buy from people they trust and who they feel really have an interest in their success.
Here are a few reasons why videos work:
You build a rapport over a long distance in a repeatable manner.
Google loves videos and has an interest in providing link juice to folks who use YouTube as their video hosting choice. Always keep backups of your videos on your hard drive and on archival quality DVDs, too.
Stats prove people like videos more than reading and blog posts with relevant videos get read more.
Simple Videos That Work
Here is an example introduction I learned from a master blogger and have used to great effect:
Hi, I’m Tim. Would you like to learn how to make better videos so you get more leads but just don’t know how? Stick around and I’ll share a simple four step system.
Share the four steps we discussed earlier, ILT it. Which is to say use the course material you have invested in and learned and teach it to your audience.
Call To Action, CTA
Then provide a call to action because they will not know what to do next unless you tell them. Ask them the following question: If you feel you got benefit from this, please comment and share.
My Calls To Action For You
Remember, your goal is to become a Master Marketer. This means all of the steps mentioned here are things that will help you become just such a Master Marketer. I know because of the results I have seen when this information is implemented in a hold nothing back manner.
Now, the above is designed to help both the affiliate marketer as well as the Internet network marketer to take advantage of all that is available to them as well as that which they have previously invested and to do so with an easy path for video creation.
As we discussed yesterday, one can be in an affiliate relationship with a company in a matter of minutes just by filling out the required web form and distributing the affiliate link. Some folks don’t even have a web site or blog, choosing instead to just include their affiliate link in their email signatures or in their online persona’s signature which they use to access the blogs they participate in on a regular basis.
It works for some folks in terms of generating ongoing income but it does little to build a long term business. This approach does nothing to build a list or a relationship with the customer.
That is fine if that is all you want, but I don’t think it is. If it is all you want, I don’t think the rest of this article will do you any good.
Posting. Why Do You Do It?
…or anything else for that matter. Why do you include your affiliate link in your profile, or your email signature?
Aren’t you a nice fellow, helping out XYZ corporation just because you like the product?
What’s that you say?
You want to get paid?
Well, okay, then. You need to understand that you have to do a little more than slinging your affiliate link everywhere.
You need to create a piece of content that is well written and is crafted in such a way that Google has a reason to put you on the front page.
Take A Beat and Do It Correctly
Right this second I want you to quit worrying about how you are going to produce a piece of content for every day. Take a beat and understand that you need to produce one(1) good piece of content that converts, not 30 pieces of crap. Make sense?
What I am saying here is understand that one of the goals of folks who tell you all you have to do is post every day and you will get rich are telling you something you want to hear.
Technically it is a true statement but I am telling you I have blogged 90 days straight and not had much to show for it. I tell you this because it is important that you understand if you, too, are going through this, it is not your fault. You are missing some big chunks …no, not big, but indeed cosmic chunks …of information.
I want you to commit right now to making it job one to create one piece of quality content.
This means I want you to quit sweating over making a post every day next week when you know that you are probably going to have to work overtime …or it is your nephew’s bar mitzvah …you have a monthly report due at work …or your niece’s sweet 16 party, whatever.
I want you to quit beating yourself to death feeling as if your dream is slowly slipping away because you cannot blog every day. Give yourself permission to feel good about your job because your job is what is financing your ultimate dream so your monthly report is part of building your dream, okay?
…and commit to creating a single piece of good content.
Yes, I know. This goes against everything you have been told lately. Well, that’s fine. I can take the heat and here is why I stand by my words.
You have been blogging every day for how long? Your results are what? Ask yourself what is driving you to stick to your guns if you are clearly firing blanks?
If you do as I say, and create a single, good quality piece of content and it starts making you money …it will make you money from now on. …24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, you now have a piece of profitable content that will generate some amount of cashflow for as long as you keep the content online.
Rinse and repeat.
My point is …and I know I am repeating myself but I want to be very clear. Focus on creating ONE, single piece of profitable content and then you can create the second one much faster. As it becomes second nature to you, and the profits start rolling in, you can focus on creating new content and less time worrying about making a sale today.
Fruit Trees and Wealth
Yes, I know. You just widened your eyes and thought What?
I will explain. Folks in the modern world are so focused on paychecks they really don’t see that the earth is just pushing wealth and security out at them everyday and no, I am not about to go off into some Eco Gaia kind of mystic rant. It is very simple. An apple tree produces a certain amount of fruit every summer. Apples run about $4.99 for a 3 lbs. bag of Gala apples at my local Wal-Mart.
I had to look it up, but an acre of trees having 300 to 400 trees should be able to produce at least 16,000 lbs. of fruit. If things are perfect, the number should approach 20,000 lbs. Working with the average of 350 trees in an acre and with the lower number of 16,000 lbs. as well as saying 60% will be what you can actually sell this gives you (16,000 lbs. / 350 trees) x .6 x ($4.99/3lbs.) and you have an annual dollar value of a single tree at $45.62.
May not sound like much, but what if you had 1,000 trees? Are you with me?
Concentrate on making one, single post that is generating you cash flow, any amount …it does not matter how much… and you are on your way to replacing your job. Once you replace your job you can start improving the process.
Toolsets and Making Posts Profitable
This process of focusing on one profitable post at a time is applicable whether you are engaging in mobile marketing affiliate programs, a multi level marketing affiliate program or, if you prefer, billing yourself as a network marketing affiliate. Point is, you have to begin with the end in mind, produce a piece of content that will address the needs of your audience, and promote that content to rank.
Marketing affiliate products is the simplest, most direct, most low cost entry path into becoming a business owner and taking advantage of the Internet as a global market. To be an affiliate marketer all you have to do as a place to start is to determine what kind of products you want to market and for what companies you wish to market.
The process can be as easy as simply clicking on the ‘affiliates’ link at the bottom of the page, supplying the required information and putting up a one page website explaining the product and why you think it is such a perfect solution to whatever problem or need it is trying to fill.
IF someone finds your page in all the billions of pages out there currently indexed by Google and they find your case for buying the product persuasive and click on your link and buy, congratulations. You are profitable.
…and very lucky.
Marketing Affiliate Products
In the section before, we talked about your need to determine what kind of products you want to market. Here are a few considerations.
Services, Physical Products, or Digital Downloads
Services require you have a skillset or access to willing folks who possess that skillset. Physical products are really not so bad. 90% of them are available, most likely, on either Amazon or eBay and in many cases they will dropship with no shipping fees.
Digital downloads are the simplest product to deliver. You make the sale, they make the purchase. You get paid; they download the product. Sale complete.
Commission Rates Matter
Now, it may sound like I am stating the obvious, but you need to remember that you are in business to make a profit. You need to run your business keeping in mind that reaching profitability as quickly as possible is job #1. For this reason, I strongly recommend you not bother with products that pay you less than 40% to 50% and higher.
If it is a subscription product that pays you monthly, so much the better. A subscription base which you are adding to each month is the holy grail, in my opinion. Naturally, you can have a stable of products such as items off of clickbank and other sites that pay a one time commission, but recurring commissions in my opinion are the main goal for an affiliate marketer.
Higher commission rates mean a shorter path to profitability. Monthly commission rates mean a sustainable business that can stand bad months.
Market Affiliate Programs
That heading has a double meaning, actually. You can act as an affiliate in marketing programs for ‘stuff,’ whether it be as I say services, physical products or digital downloads that provide information and training. You can also act as an affiliate for affiliate programs, generally in order to sell subscriptions to ongoing marketing and training programs that provide a small business owner with proven sales and marketing plans, whether he own a vitamin store or a doughnut shop.
There are a few really good online marketing affiliate programs out there and quite a few copycats. Because the good programs are so profitable it seems everyone thinks they can run one. This particular business model is less than 5 years old, so make sure you pick a good one that has a reputation amongst its afiliates for treating them right. If you want a recommendation on that you will need to ask me directly.
If you want to join the ranks of profitable online marketing affiliates, I suggest you look at My Lead System Pro’s Mastery program. It directly addresses the question of how do you make your pages and offers seen.

Many folks new to affiliate marketing get in, get overwhelmed with the amount of information slung at them and leave. Sometimes, they are overwhelmed because for all the talk and video and exhortation from their upline they cannot for the life of them determine what are the actionable steps to take to make money.
How many times have you said to yourself, “Gee, that sounds wonderful but what do I do right now?
To much too fast leads to processing overload and often the new person just saying, “Thanks, but no thanks.” We don’t want that to happen to you or your folks.
First, You Have To Become An Affiliate
This part is easy. Look at the bottom of many of the pages on products and services in which you are interested and you will see a link saying something like ‘Affiliates’ or ‘Become an Affiliate Now.’ If you like their stuff many companies don’t mind giving you a cut for referrals. Fill out the form and they will send you a link. Very few do much in the way of qualifying affiliates. If they do, just chalk it up to them wanting to do right by their customers and that cannot be bad.
Past this step is where it gets dicey for the newbie affiliate marketer.
What To Do Now
First, understand that you have a learning curve to go through. Just relax and plan to spend the time. Often people just fly off at a tanget, engage in a bunch of activity they have never engaged in before and quit, angry that they even tried. I have never understood this mindset. I mean, what did you think would happen? That you would throw up some haphazard page and folks would knock you down trying to give you money? How I wish!
Understand you know nothing; resolve to change that.
Which brings us to you second step, learning.
You are going to have to get up to speed and that means reading, thinking about what you read and determining what your plan of action is going to be. This will mean either coming up with your own plan or implementing the plan of action others have used and which is known to work.
Does a resturanter start grilling in the parking lot while they are breaking ground for his building? No. Do things in order and you will have a much better result.
You have got to have a system. There are billions if not hundreds of billions of pages out there and you are trying to float to the top of the heap when someone starts looking for what you are offering.
Step 3 You have to have a system.
Understand that as a newbie, you need an integrated system. Whether you are looking at affiliate marketing or at MLM or network marketing, you have to have a system. Since you do not know how to put one together, you will have to find one.
Some Simple Steps You Can Take Now
Here are a list of things you can do that will help.
Permalink setup in WordPress
Make sure to set your WordPress to display both the category and the post name in the path. For instance, in WordPress 4.0 you would go to Settings, Permalinks and choose Custom Structure, entering in the path to look like this: http://www.yourdomain.com/%category%/%postname%/
If you are picking a particular product to promote, then it would be helpful to have the domain related to the keyword as well. If you are like me, however, and are promoting a number of products and services, then this is not critical and the previous permalink notes will do.
Use the keyword in question in your section headings.
Not every time, but scattered throughout the post. If you include the keyword you are using in every heading of your post Google might see this as keyword stuffing and penalize you in your rankings.
Some blog variants give you the option of including a 160 character description of your post. You will want to use your keyword here, of course, as well as in your tags.
Picking Your Tags
Once you have decided on a keyword, go to Google, enter it into the search box and hit enter. Down at the bottom you will see a boxed off area called ‘Searches related to . These will be your tags.
The importance of backlinks cannot be overestimated in making your content rank. It is as much art as it is science. You can increase your backlinks by being on other sites and having your site as part of your signature. This is entirely legitimate; everyone does it and you should, too. Your spending time on other blogs, making helpful comments will help them and it will help you, too, since each comment contains a link back to your content.
Google Keyword Planner
Google Keyword Planner is an important tool in picking how you are going to market. Not taking the time to use this or a similar tool is going to make your efforts a waste of time. Myself, I use Market Samurai. Market Samurai breaks things down into all kinds of neat analytical categories. The ones you should be concerned with are page rank and backlinks.
It really is a very simple matter of getting more backlinks to your content than the competition. If your toolset can get your more backlinks your ranking goes up. When picking a keyword, looking at the backlink count is an important factor to consider.
The fact of the matter is, I don’t know of another product or service out there like Audience Builder Pro. You are getting backlinks from a private, closed network of something like 3,000 blogs and Web 2.0 sites. Over time I expect to be ranking as many as 1,000 or more backlinks to each post.
